On Saturday morning 14th March our dear friend Marcia passed away aged 83, after a long, interesting and happy life. The last few years had been difficult as she declined in health with Parkinsons Disease relying heavily on the great love and support of family

Marcia had been a member for over 60 years and was absolute an stalwart of all things PIARC.

Marcia was a people person and had enjoyed club life immensely, social functions, and working as an Official at Race Meetings since the mid-1960s at the Island and having a presence at many other Circuits Peter worked at throughout his long career. Independently of Peter she just enjoyed Motor Sport, having over the years competed at motorkhana’s, rallies and sprints and was a keen observer of Circuit Racing worldwide.

She and Peter were great life partners raising daughters Melissa, Kirrily and Jo, mother-in-law to Mick, Errol and Marty and grandmother to Kyle and Hannah, Marli and Lewis.

In addition to lifetime PIARC members and avid travellers they were also long-time property owners at the Island with many enjoying their hospitality and often a bed first at both Koonwarra Court Cowes and later for 30 years at Crafers Cresent Ventnor. She was the consummate hostess to friends’ family and the odd stray.

Marcia was for many years one of our gatekeeping team at the Island ensuring all were welcomed at events.  Always happy to be there and help all, she will be sadly missed by members, competitors and her many friends.

To Melissa, Kirrily Jo and families, the Committee and Members of PIARC extend our sympathies and best wishes to you all.
