PIARC, a club with a long history in providing some of the most talented Senior Officials in the country for over 70 years including the Australian GP and many International and National events, is looking for the next generation of leaders.
Positions we are looking to recruit for and develop include:
- Event Command
- Culminating in Clerk of the Course, Deputy and Assistant roles, this path involves activities such as:
- Manage the safety of those involved in the event, including:- General public, Spectators, Officials, Competitors, Service and pit crew.
- Control the event, including emergencies.
- Maintain the event time table and program and modify as necessary.
- Apply Motorsport Australia Rules and Event Supplementary Regulations
- Co-ordinate officials at the event.
- Manage Incidents and ensure the Emergency Plan is implemented when and if needed.
- Ensure relevant permissions are obtained.
- Promote the event to the General Public, Prospective Competitors, and Officials.
- Event Administration
- The Event Secretary and Deputy and Supporting roles fall under Event Administration and include functions such as:
- Organisation of the Event.
- Distribution of relevant paperwork.
- Planning the Schedule of the Event.
- Arranging officials.
- Monitoring and fine tuning the event.
- Treasurer / Bookkeeper
- A vital part in the running of the club, the Treasurer and/or Bookkeeper roles are key to tracking all fiscal aspects of the club including paying bills and invoicing, budgeting, and planning for the future.
- Other Roles
- There are many other roles vital to the running of a club or event - Recovery, Paddock, Marshalling, Scrutineering, and Flagging. If your interests fall into one of these areas, or you're not sure where you'd like explore, get in touch as we also partner with organisations such as VicFlag and Victorian Scrutineers to find opportunities and help train new officials.
Our thorough training processes will include exposure to many of the disciplines of officiating at all types and grades of race meetings in order to gain an overall understanding and attain competency.
